italian mafioso
Do you really think that Italians are all "gangsters"?

I'm not Italian, nor am of Italian descent, and enjoy a good gangster movie as much as any fan De Niro, but I dare say that some Italians might be offended by this question. From my reading, it appears that Mafiosi are not appreciated by most Italians in general. The gangsters are the extremists in his method, and international culture, extremists of any kind often not appreciated by the lack of extremists. Moreover, I have seen documentaries and read books about the mafia and there have been attempts by the people of Italy to quell racketeers. I can not give details on the top of my head, but I would be interested in reading the comments written by people who are Italian or of Italian descent. Beautiful language and culture.

Italian filmmaker Camillo Mastrocinque continued the trend of Italian realism, which began in the 1940s, in Fighting Men by pitting commoners against their local mafia. But though the film captures the essence of ordinary life in Sicily, it also engages in…
